University of Toccoa Falls Welcomes New Coaches
Toccoa Falls, Ga. (July 22, 2026) – University of Toccoa Falls is excited to announce the addition of two new coaches to its athletic department, welcoming Elizabeth (Libby) Ranero as Head Women’s Volleyball Coach and Colin Doss as Head Men’s Basketball Coach.
Coach Libby Ranero comes to UTF with 13 years of experience at both the high school and collegiate levels. She prides herself on developing the whole athlete in skill and knowledge and encourages her players to make glorifying the Lord their primary goal through their actions and words.
Ranero brings a passion for developing student-athletes and a competitive volleyball background to the Screaming Eagles. Throughout her playing career, she competed in numerous championships and tournaments, experiences that helped shape her leadership, work ethic, and coaching philosophy. Coach Ranero has most recently guided teams to a State Title in 2023 and a Final Four and Elite 8 appearances in the ’24 and ’25 seasons, respectively.
New Head Men’s Basketball Coach, Colin Doss, comes to UTF from Kentucky, where he established himself as one of the rising young coaches in collegiate and high school basketball. A back-to-back Coach of the Year recipient, Doss brings a proven track record of building successful programs, developing student-athletes, and leading with excellence both on and off the court.
Doss was named the 2025 New South Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and earned a nomination for the 2025 USCAA National Coach of the Year Award, becoming the youngest coach in conference history to receive the honor.
Internationally, Doss has served as the Head Coach of PHD Team USA since 2023, leading select teams of American student-athletes in the United World Games throughout Europe. Under his leadership, Team USA has compiled a 21-4 overall record while competing in Germany, Austria, and Italy. His teams have captured the 2023 Gold Medal and consecutive Silver Medals in 2025 and 2026, earning victories over national teams representing Italy, Austria, Switzerland, Turkey, Germany, and several other countries.
Known for his passion for player development, relentless competitiveness, and commitment to Christian mentorship, Doss arrives at Toccoa Falls eager to build a championship culture that reflects the institution’s mission of developing students both on the court and in their walk with Christ.
UTF looks forward to the impact they will make on campus and is eager to see the men’s basketball and women’s volleyball teams compete under their leadership in the upcoming seasons.
